Compton – On Monday, May 2, Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo and California Secretary of Business, Consumer Services and Housing Agency (BCSH), Lourdes M. Castro Ramírez traveled to Compton, California to highlight efforts to increase housing affordability and stability and to support underserved small businesses and minority entrepreneurs through programs funded by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARP)—including the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF), Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) programs, and State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI).
Deputy Secretary Adeyemo visited Neighborhood Housing Services of Los Angeles County’s (NHS) Center for Sustainable Communities (CSC) in Compton to participate in a roundtable discussion with Lori Gay, CEO of NHS, California Secretary of Business, Consumer Services and Housing Agency (BCSH), Lourdes M. Castro Ramírez, Rebuilding Together City of Angels, Strategic Actions for a Just Economy (SAJE), New Economics for Women (NEW), Metro CDC, Department of Homelessness, County of Los Angeles, local officials and clients about the implementation and impact of the ARP on efforts to expand the supply of affordable housing.
