Internship

If you are a college or graduate student focused on urban studies, public policy, real estate, urban planning, environment science, public administration, marketing, business administration, or a related field, we’d love to meet you! Roles and responsibilities

  • Research foundations and other fundraising opportunities.
  • Research and prepare policy briefs about local, state, and federal legislation.
  • Research and prepare materials for legislative meetings.
  • Gathering data on housing and demographic indicators from a variety of sources.
  • Updating social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
  • Conducting interviews with recent homebuyers and borrowers and drafting up short pieces for newsletter.
  • Engage with existing data sites to highlight community issues, including assisting with NHS’ data to highlight community impact.
  • Crafting press releases and Op-eds on NHS events and relevant housing issues.
  • Making calls to schedule appointments and other administrative duties.
  • Working with Operations on managing and summarizing client data.
  • Other duties as required.
Some weekend and evening event participation required.
  • Passion for neighborhoods and communities of Los Angeles County
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Experience working or volunteering at a community-based organization (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency in using databases such as Salesforce (preferred)
